It is a Christmas tradition to make candy buckeyes at my house. They are super yummy and never seem to last long, so it isn't good to make them too early! And in case you are wondering what a buckeye is, I found this picture for you.
Here it is, the famous Ohio Buckeye Recipe:
4 1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 3/4 cup peanut butter
2 sticks margerine or butter (1 cup)
10-12 oz. bag chocolate chips
1/4 cake paraffin wax
toothpicks
Mix powdered sugar, peanut butter & butter. Mix by hand--will be stiff. Form into walnut sized balls, place on wax paper & chill. Put choc. chips & paraffin in double boiler to melt. Dip each ball in melted choc/paraffin mixture until almost covered. Put on waxed paper & chill.
